Now this is something I haven't seen anyone do with a minisite besides me and that's use it as a blog.  Granted theirs no real RSS (I could code one but nah lol), and you can't social share unless you add additional tools, but one thing I've learned from experience... MINISITES ARE EASY TO RANK!  You may have found this post through a search engine.  The reason they rank so good is because you can directly effect the html code to optimize it for on page SEO.  This means important things like your meta tags, H1, & H2, Alt images, etc can be easily manipulated.  With Wordpress you need a few plugins just to do this (you can't effect SEO with bare bones wordpress).

Minisites Barely Use Any Resources

Did you know your hosting company will shut down your website if you get a lot of traffic?  If your website takes up a lot of bandwidth then hosting companies will throttle you for some time.

Wordpress is the #1 offender for this because wordpress sites are so heavy on hosting (especially with a lot of plugins), but minisites barely use anything, so you won't hardly ever run into the issue of "too much" traffic.
